A return to prosperity? In September 2007, the Sierra Leone had the opportunity to define for the first time its democracy after 41 years of many abortions in its democratic process. The ballot, 8 September 2007 were by all means a defining moment of the sierra in the development of democratic of € ™ s of Leoneâ. But the outcome of the elections, which confirmed the likely winner Ernest Bai Koroma of the PCA as president, would become more expressive when political changes the country has felt the strong intra if the management of € ™ s of Koromaâ could move to consolidate the democratic gains made in 2007 elections.  The 2007 parliamentary and presidential elections were sierra national competition of the true democratic of € ™ s Leoneâ the first in 4 decades and the victory of the € of the Ernest Bai Koromaâ a former insurance executive who has worked on platform zero-tolerance œ of the â € "the â € of the corruption of € should put an end to 41 years of bad management. Contrary to the dubious nature of electoral processes of the four decades earlier and a lot of accreditation of strong leadership of Dr. Christiana Thorpe (the chairman of the National Electoral Commission (NEC)), the transparent ballot was conducted and the result was indisputable. The victory of the € ™ s of Koromaâ in 2007 triggered hopes for profound change and the caliber of the people that President Koroma has chosen for his cabinet is testament to the sense wants to take the "€ of the country that development is progressive and sustainable. But it was not the first time Sierra Leone had warned that optimism. In 1996, the former head of state Ahmad Tejan Kabbah has found a similar turning point. He had become president after the help from an NEC by Dr principal. James Jonah who was accused of to handle the elections for Tejan Kabbah against Dott. Karefa Smart of political veteran after two rounds. Dr. James Jonah was subsequently rewarded by Kabbah appointed Minister of Finance. The President Kabbah was immediately consumed for a variety of problems: a profound foreign country, a press hostile and offensive, the sensitivity sick of the United States for its friendship with Iran and Libya and the rancor within a military establishment were angry that the militia Kamajors was trusted and promoted by a Department of Defense whose daily activities were administered by a € the chief of the Kamajor of the € œ â (Norman of Hing) as a delegate Defense Despite Minister. be ennobled in many ways, President Kabbah was also impossible neglected negligent and irresponsible. And so, rather than a sign of the beginning of a stable Sierra Leonean democracy, the government of ten years of € ™ s of the Tejan Kabbah ended with nothing to be proud about.  Again, in April 1997 is worthy of note that, President Kabbah was spodestato office in a coup d 'tat by à © Lt. Column Johnny Paul Koroma – setting off a period of ten months of Interregnum and plunge the country into chaos sadistic. The vacuum created under the control of junta rule of AFRC did not end until February 1998, when President Kabbah has ordered a bloody military intervention using the forces of ECOMOG from the main Nigerian General Maxwell Kobe to eject the junta from power. The President Kabbah was reinstated as head of state. It is thought that again drive a return to peace in the country and guide the prosperity of Sierra Leone laying the foundation for a stable and a nation of progression. But still, the President Kabbah could not ensure that peace in the country. But the sierra of € ™ s of Leoneâ has handled the risks faced democracy that finally led to the veiled negligence of the President Tejan Kabbah. 2007 hours may mark the return of prosperity in Sierra Leone? The fundamental consensus of  only on condition of the main objectives can give a company a basis for democracy and the new Sierra Leone seems to have an agreement that among its main political actors. The outcome of the presidential and legislative elections of 11 August held with the protection, significantly, the European Union (EU) and United Nations (UN) with the Party of € ™ s Ernest Koromaâ winning 59 seats, the party incumbent of Solomon Berewa winning 43 seats, and the recently formed party of PMDC Charles Margao winning 10 locations a certain convergence of will between the S. ™ the A. P.C. € of the Koromaâ and PMDC ™ s of the € Margaiâ by a common determination to conclude the misrule of SLPP in Sierra Leone as a result of the second round of presidential elections held on 8 September 2007. As a result, parties to conquer the 2007 elections are the APC and PMDC parties. These parties are both abundantly endowed with resources, authority and the ability convincing and may possibly establish a basic consensus among themselves to guide the country with prosperity. The unity between the two parties and their understanding as to support the drive has kept contemporary Sierra Leone in a state of optimism government. Optimism government already is demonstrating after the selection of cabinet ministers that included some of the resources with the party PMDC (Dr. Soccoh Kabba as Minister of Health; Mr. Benjamin Davies as minister of land, planning and rural ' environment; and Mr. John Saab, as minister of housing and infrastructure development) to ensure that the PMDC is involved in building the nation and Sierra Leone to govern from a broad platform of political ideologies. Another demonstration of governmental optimism is the appointment of human rights and civil affairs of the officer on the main mission of the UN in Liberia, Ms. Zainab Bangura as minister of foreign affairs.  Lango Deen, an insightful contributor to the tribune of Leonenet administered by the University of Maryland in the United States summarized the appointment of € ™ s of the Zainab Banguraâ in this brilliant assessment, reporting: œ when President Bush has nominated Condoleezza Rice as Minister who said, "the â €; In Dott. Rice, the world will see the strength, tolerance and decency of our country. " I am President Koroma, but I 'd Gradica say the same of Zainab Bangura. It is easy to carry and no stranger to the global stage. To nominate for this high profile job, President Koroma has included all Sierra Leonean women as equal partners in the country. It is clear that the president is aiming to complete a coupling of the Sierra Leonean € of women.â in a country where the circumstances are so evil and a country that has experienced all sorts of chaos, any combination of ideologies of the party for inspire genuine social change is a giant step in the right direction. From such cooperation there will be a basic consensus on how to establish a rule of law consistently. The organized crimes of corruption that have turned much the victims in Sierra Leoneans do not have private guilty of what their nation has to offer (which all members of the previous SLPP government are not able even to recognize, for selfish reasons of their own ). A cooperation of this nature still makes it easy for other functions of the agenda be driven by national consensus to determine, for example, by just under generate wealth, economic development, or employment; on how to modernize the sector energy; on how to combat poverty and inequality. During the past ten years, the sierra of political € ™ s of the Leoneâ even failed to consider the value or the viability of public institutions and the enormous financial responsibilities (such as those generated by relentless corruption of cabinet ministers from unscrupulous and more specific privileges and official of the party) that is a continuation of the old. All this cooperation and clear background inspire the promotion of democracy in Sierra Leone. The 2007 elections showed that people of Sierra Leone who was beaten too long by successive regimes have learned to appreciate the essence of democracy. Koroma to vote as president is a safeguard of the democratic process with sierra Leoneans who voted in a way that goes beyond their immediate tribal interests. The President Koroma must now act as chief of staff for the Sierra Leoneans, not just a representative of his party or his ethnic group. Then of course, civil society can contribute in many ways to help promote stability in the country. The media (local and international) must be objective and impartial in their presentation and analysis of issues. However, going the right direction with the opportunity to stay healthy to number one in Sierra Leone has the primary responsibility of the Government ™ s APC of € Koromaâ the president. It is up to him and his party if the Sierra Leonean democracy advances or is still muzzled a, of whether corruption is firmly or does not deal with at all. The humble person but constant Ernest Koroma gives some indication that grow above its short-term interests of consolidating the progress of the sierra of € ™ s of Leoneâ toward democratic stability. The promise of managed PresidencyThe whole ™ s Congress of the Peopleâ € (APC) has existed for 40 years. From its beginnings as a minor opposition party into a new independent country it had defended the rights of workers. The APC under Siaka Stevens showed an impressive tenacity in resistance and survival of assaults machine SLPP But this also meant that Siaka Stevens gone, the APC was more focused on limiting the power that it sull'esercitazione – a quality that has damaged the party when Joseph Momoh took over the presidency. As in 1967, the APC had another historic moment in 2007 and has had a leader Ernest Koroma, as the head of a pro-democracy veteran, "Sierra Leoneans fascinated" – just as Siaka Stevens had done in his initial presidential campaign against Albert Margai, in 1967. (That campaign was truncated dall'esule of € ™ of the Siaka Stevens to Guinea following the ™ à © tat of the dâ € coup by General Brigadier Lansana, but the turmoil that followed catapulted him to the presidency despite .) To this effect, Koroma deserves much credit
